I thought that the New Year's Day was coming, and my friends came to my home just in the afternoon to arrange tea so that the new year would be sweet and sweet.

Steps to make Pumpkin, Peanut and Sesame rice dumpling

  • 1. The peanuts are roasted in advance. I baked them in an oven at 150 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes [time is not absolute]. If there is no time, it is also important to pay attention to the heat and avoid burning.
  • 2. To remove the red coat, don't touch it when it's just hot, it will easily fall off once it cools down.
  • 3. It was done quite perfectly.
  • 4. Then put the prepared peanuts into a slightly thicker bag and gently roll them back and forth with a rolling pin. I prefer those with a granular texture, so I don't directly crush those that prefer a delicate texture. Just use a blender.
  • 5. Clean sesame seeds one day in advance and let them dry overnight.
  • 6. Now let's start frying black sesame seeds on low heat. Remember not to turn off the heat when all the sesame seeds become round and plump on high heat.
  • 7. Use a blender to grind the stir fried and cooled sesame seeds into powder, then set aside.
  • 8. This is homemade lard.
  • 9. Just melt it in the microwave, and if you like quicksand lard, you can add a little more.
  • 10. Put the crushed black sesame seeds and peanuts into a larger container.
  • 11. Add the prepared soft white sugar.
  • 12. Pour the melted lard into the refrigerator and stir well. Refrigerate for about an hour.
  • 13. Refrigerate until it solidifies and can be easily rolled into balls. I divide it evenly into equal sizes, so I suggest wearing gloves for better results. The size depends on yourself, around 10g or 15g.
  • 14. Steam the pumpkin in a pot and mash it into paste.
  • 15. Add glutinous rice flour and knead it into a soft and hard dough.
  • 16. The kneaded dough is not sticky. When it feels dry, add a little liquid and dilute it, then add a little glutinous rice flour.
  • Divide into equally sized dough balls.
  • 18. Place sesame and peanut stuffing in the middle of the pie crust.
  • 19. Slowly pull the tiger's mouth upwards, and finally gently rub it into a round shape.
  • 20. Prepare everything, and if you can't finish it, you can put it in a bag in the refrigerator and freeze it.
  • 21. Bring the water to a boil, pour in rice dumpling, boil for a while, and then pull it with a spoon to prevent it from sticking together.
  • 22. Just float up and you can start eating. I made it quite large. To be honest, three people per person are enough.
  • 23. If you don't like the taste of pumpkin, just heat up the water and knead the noodles, but adding pumpkin flavor is even better.
