Steps to make Red Date Zongzi
- 1. Prepare all the raw materials (round rice I chose).
- 2. Soak the rice two hours in advance.
- 3. Wash the reed leaves and blanch them in a wok. Remove and set aside for later use.
- 4. Take three reed leaves and cross them into a bowl shape from one-third of the way.
- 5. Add a red jujube.
- 6. Add a little glutinous rice.
- 7. Add two more jujubes.
- 8. Then add glutinous rice.
- 9. Hold it steady with your left hand, cover the rice with the leaves with your right hand, and press firmly.
- 10. Straighten up.
- 11. Fold a fake corner.
- 12. Tie it tightly with a rope.
- 13. Wrap all Zongzi in turn.
- 14. Cut off excess leaves, does it look good?
- 15. Put it into the steamer.
- 16. Add proper amount of water to cover Zongzi.
