Steps to make Xiaosanjiao Zongzi
- 1. Soak the glutinous rice one night in advance.
- 2. Prepare washed zongzi leaves in advance.
- 3. Take a piece of zongzi leaf and use the narrow end to rotate counterclockwise inward for one and a half times, overlapping with the wide edge, to form a cone-shaped nest.
- 4. Add a small amount of rice and compact, then add red dates or bean paste filling. I used homemade mung bean paste filling.
- 5. Fill the meter again and compact it.
- 6. Fold the zongzi leaves back and cover the rice.
- 7. Pinch out the sharp corners with a tiger's mouth, and fold the excess zongzi leaves to the side.
- 8. Wrap and tie tightly, complete.
- 9. Put the wrapped Zongzi into the pressure cooker, add water over the Zongzi, and boil it for 25 minutes after steaming. If cooked in a regular pot, cook for at least two hours.
- 10. After Zongzi is out of the pot, soak it in the original juice for one night to make it more delicious.
