Steps to make Honey grapefruit tea

  • 1. Thoroughly clean the pomelo: First, wash and soak it during meals, then rub it with fine salt, and finally rinse it with hot water at around 60 degrees Celsius;
  • 2. Use a scraper to scrape off the skin of the grapefruit, the thinner the better, and try to minimize the white areas;
  • 3. Cut the scraped grapefruit peel into thin strips, the finer the better;
  • 4. Add a little salt to the sliced grapefruit peel;
  • 5. Start by rubbing with moderate force until the grapefruit peel is wet and sticky, then rinse thoroughly with clean water; Repeat three times;
  • After the last rinse, soak the grapefruit peel shreds in light salt water for 3-4 hours, or even put them in the refrigerator overnight;
  • 7. Rinse the soaked pomelo peel shreds again, put them in a small pot, add water and a little salt, and boil for about 10 minutes;
  • 8. Remove, rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water, set aside for later use. After such processing, the grapefruit peel has basically lost its bitter taste.
  • 9. Peel off the grapefruit flesh;
  • 10. Use a blender to crush the grapefruit meat, it doesn't have to be too fine, it's okay if it's a bit coarse; (Even without a cooking machine, it can be easily crushed with a spoon.)
  • 11. Grind the fruit pulp, grapefruit peel, and rock sugar together in a pot (stainless steel pot, glass pot, or clay pot are fine, but don't use an iron pot), and add half a bowl of water (I added about 150ml);
  • 12. Bring to a boil on high heat, reduce heat and simmer slowly, stirring appropriately to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pot;
  • 13. Boil until the water is almost dry and the texture is thick, turn off the heat, and let it cool to room temperature;
  • 14. Add honey;
  • 15. Stir evenly, pay attention to stirring in the same direction, and do not stir it apart;
  • 16. Put it in a sealed container that has been disinfected, store it in a refrigerator, and it can be consumed after three days. The longer the time, the less bitter the taste will be. Mine, there will be a slight bitterness in three days, and the bitterness will disappear in five days.
