Steps to make Northeast smoked dried tofu roll
- 1. Stir the meat filling with water in one direction, then add chopped scallions and ginger, salt, noodle sauce, soy sauce, five spice powder, chicken essence, starch, and cooked vegetable oil and continue stirring for a while.
- 2. Let it sit for 20 minutes until it becomes flavorful.
- 3. Spread the dried tofu on the cutting board.
- 4. Spread meat filling evenly on top and smooth it out.
- 5. Roll up.
- 6. Put the rolled tofu rolls into a steamer and steam for 15 minutes. Before steaming, use a toothpick to poke some holes in the tofu rolls to prevent bubbles from appearing during the steaming process.
- 7. In addition, take a frying pan and put a piece of tin foil in it. Place white sugar on top of the tin foil.
- 8. Put the steamed tofu rolls together with the steamer into a wok.
- 9. Cover the pot, turn on the heat, wait for smoke to rise in the pot for about ten seconds, then turn off the heat and let it simmer for a while to color the tofu rolls.
