Fanshi Qinggao is definitely a local specialty of Taizhou. It is a typical representative of fine processing of coarse grains. In terms of name, the name of Fanshi Qinggao is also quite unique. In Huangyan dialect, sweet potatoes are called "fanshi", and cakes are steamed. The exact name is "fanshi steamed cake", but the pronunciation of "steamed" and "qing" in Taizhou is almost the same. Steps to make Fanshi Qinggao
- 1. Mix sweet potato silk flour, glutinous rice flour and brown sugar (the proportion is not proportional, according to your preference for soft glutinous rice).
- 2. Mixed powders.
- 3. This is a specially steamed bucket that can be used at home with a steamer.
- 4. Place a drawer cloth on top, pour the mixed powder onto it, and flatten it out.
- Sprinkle osmanthus and sesame seeds on top.
