Steps to make Yellow rice, walnut kernels, honey dates, zongzi

  • 1. Soak red cowpeas in water one night in advance to inflate, and soak walnuts in advance
  • 2. Soak glutinous rice and yellow rice in water about 3 hours in advance
  • 3. Soak the walnut kernels in advance and try to remove the inner layer as much as possible, as this layer may have a slightly bitter taste.
  • 4. Put the two types of rice and beans that have been soaked together
  • 5. Mix evenly
  • 6. Roll one end of the zongzi leaves into a cone shape
  • 7. Place mixed rice at the bottom
  • 8. Place dates and walnuts in the middle
  • 9. Lay rice on top again
  • 10. Fold down the long end
  • 11. Pinch diagonally and fold it back
  • 12. Fold back the longer part to tightly wrap the rice inside
  • 13. Tie it up.
  • 14. Put it in the pot, and the water is 2-3 cm above the Zongzi
