Steps to make Cantonese Taro cake

  • 1. Prepare all materials: cut taro into thin strips, dice sausage, soak shrimps and scallops 2-3 hours in advance, chop onions, ginger and garlic, and stick Rice noodles ➕ Starch.
  • 2. Heat up the wok and add oil. Stir fry the scallions, ginger, and garlic until fragrant. Then, add diced sausages, shrimp, and dried scallops and stir fry until fragrant.
  • 3. Pour in the cut taro strip, stir fry for a while, then add salt, soy sauce, oyster sauce and sugar, stir fry evenly.
  • 4. Stir fry it like this and pour it into the prepared rice paste.
  • After pouring in the rice slurry, stir it clockwise until evenly mixed, and then it can be placed in the steaming tray.
  • 6. After the water boils, put it in and steam over high heat for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to start the pot.
  • 7. After steaming, sprinkle some sesame seeds and scallions while they are hot, take them out and let them cool, then cut them into your favorite pieces.
