Steps to make Laba Congee

  • 1. Prepare red beans, black beans, flower beans and peas.
  • 2. Prepare wheat kernels, buckwheat, crushed corn, and oats.
  • 3. Prepare peanuts, lotus seeds, sorghum rice, and white sesame seeds.
  • 4. Prepare rice and soybeans.
  • 5. Soak various beans and other ingredients in advance for 3-4 hours. Wash the wheat kernels and buckwheat, and put them together in a clay pot.
  • 6. Add cold water; Bring to a boil over high heat and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
  • 7. Add oats, corn residue, and sorghum to continue boiling for 15 minutes.
  • 8. Add rice and white sesame and cook for another 10 minutes. The cooked Laba Congee can be eaten after adding white sugar (brown sugar). If you don't like sweets, you can also make them salty.
