Steps to make Heart-shaped potato cake

  • 1. Peel and slice potatoes, wash away the starch with water, and drain the water.
  • 2. Steam on high heat in a steamer for about 10 minutes until fully cooked.
  • 3. Take out and use a spoon to grind into mashed potatoes, add an appropriate amount of corn starch, about 1/2 of the mashed potatoes, then add a small amount of salt and flour, and knead into a dough.
  • 4. Sprinkle flour on the panel and roll the mashed potatoes into slices about half a centimeter thick.
  • 5. Cut the heart shape with a mold. Gently pat a layer of flour on the heart-shaped cake and shake off any excess flour.
  • 6. Put oil in a small pot. When the oil is hot to 60-70%, add potato cakes and fry until the surface turns slightly yellow.
