This is my traditional snack in Ningbo, the Grey Juice Ball. It's very delicious, but it still can't compare to my grandmother making drops.

Steps to make Gray juice cluster
- 1. Ingredients: rock sugar, japonica Rice noodles, brown sugar, edible alkali.
- 2. Add rock sugar to a water pot.
- 3. Brown sugar.
- 4. Edible alkali.
- 5. Heat until the rock sugar melts, then turn off the heat.
- 6. Take out 200g japonica Rice noodles and pour it into the pot. Stir it quickly clockwise until there is no granular dough. Make sure to stir well, otherwise it will taste grainy.
- 7. Place oil paper on top of the steamer. Dip some oil on your hands and knead the dough into small balls. Start steaming in the wok, bring to a boil over high heat, then steam over medium heat for 20 minutes.
