Steps to make Fig Pie

  • 1. Low gluten powder, sugar, and salt are sieved together to form a mixed powder
  • 2. Cut butter into small pieces and pour them onto the powder

  • 4. Pour the egg yolk and milk into the kneaded powder granules
  • 5. Slowly mix the dry and wet materials, being careful not to rub excessively to prevent the dough from sticking out and causing excessive shrinkage of the dough during baking
  • 6. Put the dough in a bag and refrigerate, let it relax for at least 30 minutes
  • 7. Take the relaxed pastry and roll it out with a rolling pin
  • 8. Gently place it on the baking tray
  • 9. Tighten and remove excess
  • 10. Use a small fork to create small holes on top to prevent expansion and deformation during baking
  • 11. Cover the pastry with tin foil and press heavy objects on top, which can be stones or beans
  • 12. Place the oven on high heat at 180 degrees Celsius and on low heat at 190 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes (the temperature of each oven varies depending on the situation)
  • Take it out after 13.15 minutes
  • 14. Lay figs on top and bake in the oven at the same temperature for another 5 minutes
