Steps to make Zongzi

  • 1. Clean the glutinous rice and set it aside.
  • 2. Clean the zongzi leaves and soak them in sweat for disinfection.
  • 3. Prepare thick lines for binding Zongzi later.
  • 4. Cut the pork belly into pieces, marinate with cooking wine, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, and thirteen spices for half an hour, and then set aside.
  • 5. Add an appropriate amount of alkali, light soy sauce, and oyster sauce to adjust the color of glutinous rice.
  • 6. Then roll two zongzi leaves into a small nest.
  • 7. Put glutinous rice first below.
  • 8. Put the marinated meat filling in the middle.
  • 9. Put another layer of glutinous rice on top.
  • 10. Then pinch the two fingers of the right hand.
  • 11. Use your left hand to fold down the zongzi leaves on top and wrap them.
  • 12. Wrap the glutinous rice tightly so that it can be tied up with hemp rope.
  • 13. Wrap them one by one and then tie them up.
  • 14. Everything is packed.
  • 15. Fill the pressure cooker with water and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • 16. After being heated, change the minimum heat and cook for three hours. Do not cook over high heat as it may cause the glutinous rice to burst open.
  • 17. Take it out and drain the water.
  • 18. Peel off the finished product of zongzi leaves.
  • 19. It's fragrant and delicious, absolutely delicious.
  • 20. Zongzi can be eaten alone as a staple food or with breakfast.
