Salted kumquat has excellent cough relieving and phlegm resolving effects. Many households in Guangdong do it year after year, and the longer the pickling time, the better. Whenever you have a cold, cough, or feel uncomfortable in your throat, take out a salted kumquat and rinse it with water. This is also considered a folk remedy.
